Instructions for Oral Presenters
All oral presenters should submit their presentations at the speaker preview room on the first floor of the Arts Centre. All presenters are kindly asked to ensure their lecture is submitted half a day in advance of their lecture time, i.e. presenters on Tuesday morning should submit their presentation no later than Monday afternoon. Speakers on Tuesday afternoon should submit their presentation no later than Tuesday morning.
The preview room will be open during the following times:
Sunday 25th August 2013 12:00 – 18:00
Monday 26th August 2013 07:30 – 18:00
Tuesday 27th August 2013 07:30 – 18:00
Wednesday 28th August 2013 07:30 – 18:00
Thursday 29th August 2013 07:30 – 12:00
All presentations should be prepared in PowerPoint format. If you have additional requirements such as sound or animations, please ensure you visit the preview room well in advance of your presentation time. Use of your own equipment or an Apple Mac will not be accepted as standard but may be accommodated if the technician is consulted far enough in advance of your presentation time slot. The technician’s decision is final.
Presentation Timekeeping
To ensure the conference keeps within the tight schedule, we urge all presenters to ensure their lectures can be presented within their allocated time slot. Chairs will advise of the time remaining and may interrupt the speaker if their presentation has run over time. Please direct any enquiries about your presentation to the sessions Chairs. Invited presenters will be allocated 25 minutes to speak plus 5 minutes for questions, and presenters selected from the submitted Abstracts will have 15 minutes to speak plus 5 minutes for questions. Plenary and Keynote lecturers should allocate 50 minutes for their presentation and 10 minutes for questions, making the presentation 60 minutes in total.
Instructions for Poster Presenters
Posters will be displayed in the Commercial Exhibition Area of the Arts Centre and on the ground floor of the adjacent Rootes Building. Each poster board is identified by a number corresponding to the list in the Programme Book. All posters will be displayed for the duration of ECM28. Posterboards are 2m x 1m in size and will be portrait style. Landscape boards will not be provided.
The designated poster sessions have been scheduled during the following times:
Monday 26th August 2013, 18:30 – 19:30
Tuesday 27th August 2013, 17:30 – 18:30
Wednesday 28th August 2013, 17:30 – 18:30
There is also the possibility of viewing posters during the lunch and coffee breaks. The presenting author is expected to be beside their poster during the designated sessions or find a co-author to replace them. Mounting material will be provided. All poster numbers are listed in the Programme Book. Posters can be mounted from 12:00 on Sunday 25th August 2013 and should be in place by 11:00 on Monday 26th August 2013. Posters must be removed by 19:00 on Thursday 29th August 2013, and the organisers cannot accept responsibility for posters that are not removed by this time. Posters left at the venue will not be returned. There are no facilities for the storage of poster tubes at the venue.
The poster boards are 1m wide by 2m high Portrait Style.
Poster Prizes
The organisers of ECM28 are delighted to announce a broad range of Prizes for the best and most interesting posters displayed at the ECM at Warwick University. We are very grateful to the organisations which have generously sponsored the prizes, and we encourage all poster presenters to consider entering their work. If you think your poster is eligible for a particular Poster Prize, it probably is! All presenters who wish to enter their posters for the Poster Prize competitions should submit their details at the Registration Area in Senate House before 18:30 on Monday 26th August 2013. The ECA has established a panel of independent judges who will assess the posters, and the Poster Prizes will be presented at the ECM Closing Ceremony which starts at 18:30 on Thursday 29 August 2013 in the Butterworth Hall.
